At Woodlands we have a Reggio approach, a part of this philosophy is Teachers, Educators and families allowing children to be actively involved in their education and allowing children to explore project-based learning.
Playing is part of learning, and learning is children's most important job. Children need to be empowered to build on and be challenged through quality learning. Children also need to build their understanding on Body safety and boundaries, and stranger danger.
The optimal mix in the 3yo and 4yo kindergarten program is having both direct teaching and free play, which will enable children to achieve their individual and group goals, while still having the ability to challenge their learning development in a safe, encouraging and engaging space.Β
